Effects of anti-α v or anti-β 3 mAb on LPS-induced increases in inflammatory cell numbers and total protein levels in BAL fluid. Where indicated, mice were administered anti-αv, anti-β3, or IgG (5 mg/kg, i.p.) once 1 h before LPS treatment and sacrificed 4 h post-LPS. Mice were also administered these mAbs (5 mg/kg, i.p.) once 2 h after LPS and sacrificed 24 h post-LPS. Neutrophil (A) and macrophage (B) numbers and total protein levels (C) in BAL fluid. Values represent means ± SEM of 5 mice per group. *Significantly different from saline treated controls, p < 0.05; significantly different at 4 h (+) and 24 h (‡) post-LPS from animals treated with LPS only, p < 0.05.
