Effect of CSE on cell proliferation in cultured CD34+ progenitor cells. Cultured CD34+ progenitor cells were exposed to various concentrations of cigarette smoke extract (CSE) for 24 h, and an MTS assay was performed. CSE significantly suppressed cell proliferation at a concentration of 0.3 %. Data are expressed as mean ± SD (n = 8). *P < 0.05 versus control
