Nicotine-induced effects on kinin B 1 (B1R) and B 2 (B2R) receptor protein expression. Tracheal segments were cultured for 4 days in presence of vehicle (DMSO, A, C) or nicotine (Nic, 10 μM, B, D). The reference bar corresponds to 25 μm. The intensity of fluorescence was semi-quantified using Image J software (E, F). Epi = epithelium; SMC = smooth muscle cells; and C = cartilage. Each data point is derived from 6 experiments. Two-tailed unpaired Student's t-test with Welch's correction was preformed. Control vs Nic. * P < 0.05; *** P < 0.001.
