α ₅ mRNA expression was induced by TTF-1 in ATII-like A-549 cells and bronchiolar epithelium-like Beas2B cells. A. By semi-quantitative RT-PCR analysis, A-549 and Beas2B cells endogenously express α₅. Transfection with a TTF-1 expression vector 24 hours prior to mRNA isolation, reverse transcription, and PCR amplification resulted in detectible increases in α₅ expression.
