COPD-PH Cohort Patient Selection. Patients with COPD-PH listed for lung transplantation after LAS implementation in May 2005 were selected. PH defined as mPAP > 20 mmHg. Patients were further classified by PH category. Pre-capillary PH is defined as mPAP > 20 mmHg, PAWP ≤ 15 mmHg, and PVR > 2 WU. Post-capillary PH is defined as mPAP > 20 mmHg, PAWP > 15 mmHg, and PVR ≤ 2 WU. Combined pre- and post-capillary PH is defined as mPAP > 20 mmHg, PAWP > 15 mmHg, and PVR > 2 WU. Unclassified PH is defined as mPAP > 20 mmHg, PAWP ≤ 15 mmHg, and PVR ≤ 2 WU. COPD Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. LAS Lung allocation score. mPAP: Mean pulmonary artery pressure. PAWP Pulmonary artery wedge pressure. PH Pulmonary hypertension. PVR Pulmonary vascular resistance. RHC Right heart catheterization. WU Woods units
